Elon Musk explains the cause of the outage on Twitter (X): He blames Ukraine

The social media platform X, owned by US billionaire businessman Elon Musk, experienced a prolonged access issue, with members unable to post for hours.

According to Downdetector.com, which tracks when social media platforms go offline, the first outage on the X platform was reported around 06:30 AM New York local time.

According to the tracking site, after the issue was resolved for a short time, problems accessing the platform increased around 09:40 AM, and approximately 40 thousand users reported that their X accounts were not working.

It was noted that the outage was primarily experienced in densely populated cities such as New York and Boston on the US East Coast, and Los Angeles on the West Coast.

ELON MUSK SAID IT WAS A CYBERATTACK

The businessman Elon Musk, owner of the social media platform in question, said that the issue experienced on X since the morning hours was caused by a "cyberattack."

Sharing from his official account on X, Musk stated, "There has been a massive cyberattack against X."

"We are attacked every day, but this was done from too many sources. Either a large, coordinated group or a country was involved in this," said Musk, noting that they are monitoring the situation.

HE BLAMES UKRAINE

Pointing out that they are "not entirely sure" what happened, Musk used the phrase, "However, a massive cyberattack was launched with IP addresses originating from Ukraine to crash the X system."

On the other hand, Musk noted that there are currently no access problems on the platform.
