Flood disaster in India: 14 dead, 120 missing!

According to initial reports, 14 people have lost their lives and 120 people, including 23 soldiers, are missing following a flood in India's Sikkim state. Prabhakar Rai, Director General of the Sikkim State Disaster Management Authority, noted that water levels rose suddenly in the Lachen region around 22:00 local time, triggering the flood.

As reported by AA, state officials announced that according to initial findings, 14 people have died and 120 people, 23 of whom are soldiers, are missing. In a statement from the army, it was stated that 23 military personnel at a military facility in the region went missing in the flood.

Meanwhile, flood warnings have also been issued for some regions in Bangladesh. Officials, who believe the flood was caused by the "overflow of a glacial lake," are investigating the matter. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in a statement regarding the flood, said that 10,000 people have been evacuated from the region and taken to camps established in 9 different districts of the state.
