Iranian Revolutionary Guard: 4 ships hit in Persian Gulf, 3 ships struck mines

The Navy of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that 4 ships, which were reportedly transferring oil cargo from ship to ship in the northern Persian Gulf, were hit simultaneously.

The statement alleged that the ships in question were passing through "unauthorized routes" and were detected during the oil transfer. It was reported that the intervention against the ships was carried out at the same time.

The Revolutionary Guard also announced that 3 ships struck naval mines west of the Strait of Hormuz last night. According to the statement, fires broke out on the ships that struck the mines, and the vessels were brought to a halt.

The statement issued by Iran also included a warning that if the US military escalates tensions in the region, direct action could be taken against US bases.
