Iranian Revolutionary Guard threatens attacks on oil tankers in Kuwait and Bahrain

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a threat to target oil tankers docked in ports in Kuwait and Bahrain, citing alleged U.S. attacks on Iranian oil tankers.

In a statement released by the Revolutionary Guard, it was noted that this move would serve as retaliation for the U.S. attacks. The statement called on crews working on tankers in Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports to abandon their ships immediately.

According to reports in the Iranian press, it was alleged that the U.S. carried out a missile attack on a small Iranian oil tanker approximately four miles off the coast of Kharg Island. Subsequently, it was reported that two more oil tankers were targeted near Kharg Island and off the coast of the city of Jask.

With these reports, the number of Iranian tankers allegedly attacked by the U.S. has risen to three. The development comes at a time of heightened tension regarding oil transport and maritime security in the Gulf.
