ISIS video found on phone of suspect in vehicle attack near Pride Parade in Berlin

A new finding has emerged in the investigation into the vehicle attack that took place near an area where crowds had gathered for the Pride Parade in Berlin, the capital of Germany, over the weekend.

German authorities announced that a video in which the suspect, 21-year-old German citizen Abdul Ballout, allegedly pledges allegiance to ISIS was found on his phone. It was reported that while the person's face in the video was covered with a mask, authorities believe the individual in the footage is Ballout.

A spokesperson for the Federal Prosecutor's Office did not share information regarding when the video in question was recorded.

''29 PEOPLE WERE INJURED''

Ballout was accused of driving his vehicle into a crowd at Tiergarten Park in central Berlin on Saturday night. A Polish woman in her 60s lost her life in the attack, and 29 people were injured.

It was reported that the suspect, Ballout, was shot and killed by police on Sunday following the attack.

Following the attack, Ballout's background also became a subject of debate in Germany. It was revealed that the 21-year-old suspect had been convicted and sentenced to prison in May for preparing a serious act of violence that endangered state security.

Despite this, the fact that Ballout was not in prison and was free under supervision drew public backlash. The German Ministry of the Interior announced that comprehensive changes would be made to the security system following the attack.
