Israel launches attack on Iranian embassy in Syria

The toll of the airstrike carried out by Israel on a building adjacent to the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, the capital of Syria, has been determined.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that "the annex of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus was hit and 6 people were killed" in the attack. Reports based on security sources claimed that Mohammad Reza Zahedi, one of the commanders of the Quds Force of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was also killed in the attack.

In a statement made by the Syrian Ministry of Defense, it was stated that an airstrike was carried out by Israel on the Iranian embassy building in Syria, and it was noted, “At 17:00 local time, the Iranian embassy building in Damascus was targeted by Israel.

This attack caused the entire building to collapse and resulted in the death and injury of everyone inside. Currently, efforts are underway to recover the dead and injured from the rubble,” the statement said.

SYRIAN FOREIGN MINISTER CONDEMNED THE ATTACK

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad stated that they "strongly" condemned the attack carried out by Israel on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, the capital of Syria, and said that the "terrorist attack" cost "many innocent lives" without providing further details. Mekdad stated that Israel "cannot affect the relations between Iran and Syria."
