Israel releases 39 Palestinians

The hostage exchange process, which was planned to take place following the ceasefire that began at 08:00 local time as part of the "humanitarian pause in fighting" agreement reached between Hamas and Israel, has commenced.

Following Hamas's release of 13 Israeli captives, Israel also released 39 women and children held in its prisons.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement the release of 39 women and children held in Israeli prisons.

A written statement issued by the Palestinian Prisoners' Society and the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs had previously listed the names of the 24 women and 15 children to be released from Israeli prisons during the day.

HOSTAGE EXCHANGES WILL CONTINUE

The agreement for a 4-day humanitarian pause in the fighting between Israel and Hamas went into effect on Friday, November 24, at 07:00 (08:00 Turkish time).

According to the agreement, in exchange for 50 Israeli captives held by Hamas, 150 Palestinians in Israeli prisons will be released. The captives to be released consist of women and children from both sides.
