North Korea denies claims of 'supplying weapons' to Hamas
North Korea's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Kim Song, has denied allegations that Hamas is using North Korean-made weapons against Israel.
Pyongyang has responded to claims that Hamas is using North Korean-made weapons against Israel.
In his address to the UN General Assembly, North Korea's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Kim Song, stated that some Western countries have resorted to a smear campaign against North Korea to involve it in the Middle East crisis. Expressing that "baseless rumors" regarding the use of North Korean weapons against Israel are being spread through certain US media outlets, Kim noted that the media is creating a perception that Pyongyang will resort to "blackmail diplomacy" over US interests in the Middle East and Ukraine. Stating that North Korea stands with the Palestinians, Kim emphasized that some countries are worsening the situation in the Gaza Strip by supporting Israel and its military operations. Kim added that the current crisis in the Gaza Strip must end immediately and that all civilians must be protected.
WEAPON ALLEGATIONS
While the Israeli military announced that it had seized a large number of North Korean-made F-7 rocket-propelled grenades during the clashes, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff had also stated that it was assessed that Hamas was using weapons of North Korean origin.
