A crisis has reportedly erupted in the Givati Brigade of the Israeli army over a decision to remove and destroy certain symbols displayed in the units. According to the Israel-based news site Walla, dozens of soldiers serving in the Sabar Battalion within the Givati Brigade have abandoned the Sde Teiman Base.
The report states that the command echelon issued instructions to remove certain symbols found in the battalion's units. It was noted that the soldiers opposed this decision, but the battalion commander insisted on the removal of the symbols.

It is claimed that after no agreement could be reached between the parties, a large number of soldiers left the unit. According to an account from a soldier serving in the unit, one of the commanders smashed one of the symbols with a 5-kilogram sledgehammer.
There has been no official statement from the Israeli army following the incident. No information has been shared with the public regarding whether an investigation has been launched into the matter.
