Trump's Strait of Hormuz threat to Iran: 'If they back down one more time...'
US President Donald Trump stated that they are holding "very good" talks with Iranian officials, declaring, "The Strait of Hormuz will open very soon; otherwise, they will take a very hard hit, and the Strait will be opened anyway." Trump warned the Tehran administration, "If they do not reach an agreement, it will be very bad for them."
US President Donald Trump made statements regarding Iran in an interview with Fox News. Stating that they are holding "very good" talks with Iranian officials and that he is hopeful about the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said, "The Strait of Hormuz will open very soon; otherwise, they will take a very hard hit, and the Strait will be opened anyway." Recalling that they recently abandoned a large-scale attack they were preparing to launch against Iran, Trump said, "We were about to carry out the largest and most massive attack planned since World War II. But they called me and very politely said, 'Please, can we talk?' And I said, 'Yes, we can talk. Let's get this done. Let's end it now.'"
"IF THEY BACK DOWN ONE MORE TIME, THEY WILL TAKE A VERY HARD HIT"
Emphasizing that the ongoing negotiations are Iran's last chance to reach an agreement, Trump said, "If they back down one more time, they will take a very hard hit. They know it; they understand it. I have no other choice. They cannot have a nuclear weapon. It's that simple." Stressing that the Tehran administration avoids sharing the progress made in the talks with the public and denies the negotiations, Trump said, "The only thing that matters is action, and they want to make a deal. We will see what happens." Trump warned the Iranian administration, "If they do not reach an agreement, it will be very bad for them." Reiterating that he will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons, Trump stated, "If they have a nuclear weapon, the world will be a very different place."
