United Nations: Aid trucks entering Gaza are not enough

The Israel-Hamas conflict continues. As the death toll rises due to the Israeli military's bombardment of Gaza, the humanitarian crisis in the region is also deepening because the Israeli government has cut off electricity, fuel, and water supplies to the area.

WHO RELEASES DATA

In a joint statement issued by UN aid agencies, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Food Programme (WFP), it was stated that more than 1.6 million people in the Gaza Strip are in critical need of humanitarian assistance. The statement noted that vulnerable people are at great risk, emphasizing that the rate of child mortality is at an alarming level and that they are being deprived of protection, food, water, and healthcare services.

20 TRUCKS STATED TO BE ONLY A SMALL BEGINNING

The statement, which called for urgent and unrestricted humanitarian aid to be sent to the Gaza Strip and appealed for a humanitarian ceasefire, declared, "The situation in Gaza is now catastrophic. The world must do more," adding that the 20 trucks carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip are only a small beginning and are currently far from sufficient.

MEDICAL ISSUES ADDRESSED

Meanwhile, in a statement released by Doctors Without Borders (MSF), it was noted that hospitals in the Gaza Strip are full and lacking medical supplies, emphasizing that the healthcare system is facing collapse. In a statement posted on its social media account, MSF said, "We recently donated a large quantity of medical stock, including medicines and medical supplies, to Al-Shifa Hospital, the main surgical facility in the Gaza Strip."
