US and Italy sign memorandum of understanding for cooperation on critical minerals
Washington and Rome will establish a joint working group on critical minerals with the goal of diversifying supply chains.
The US and Italy have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in the field of critical minerals. The agreement was announced with the goal of strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries and diversifying supply chains.
According to a statement from the US Department of State, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani met in New York.
During the meeting, opportunities to advance economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed. The statement noted that the diversification of supply chains was also on the agenda.
Under the "Italy-US Memorandum of Understanding" signed by Rubio and Tajani, a joint working group will be established to advance cooperation on critical minerals.
