US launches new wave of attacks against Iran

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that a new wave of attacks against military targets in Iran has been launched. Following the announcement, it was reported that sounds of explosions were heard in different regions in southern Iran.
According to reports on Iranian state television, two separate explosion sounds were heard in the city of Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan province. It was also reported that explosions occurred on the strategic islands of Abu Musa and Kish, which are within the borders of the same province.
It was noted that explosion sounds were also heard on Qeshm Island in the direction of the Strait of Hormuz, and in the city of Abadan in Khuzestan province in the southwest of the country.
In a statement made on CENTCOM's social media account, it was announced that "military targets in Iran have begun to be struck." The command stated that the attacks began as of 20:00 local time.
"US forces have launched attacks against Iran as of 20:00 local time today. These attacks are a strong response to the Iranian attempts to attack US forces stationed in the Middle East yesterday."
In the CENTCOM statement, it was argued that the attacks were a response to the Iranian-backed attempts to attack US forces stationed in the Middle East.
