Chery introduced its new TIGGO 7 and TIGGO X7 models at the Brand Night held as part of the 2026 Chery Global User Summit in Wuhu, China. The brand addresses different usage expectations with these two SUVs: the TIGGO 7 focuses on comfort and practicality for daily family use, while the TIGGO X7 focuses on off-road capability and a more rugged appearance.
During the presentation, the TIGGO 7’s trunk volume reaching 505 liters, front seats with massage features, and spacious interior layout were highlighted; for the TIGGO X7, an all-wheel-drive option, ground clearance exceeding 200 millimeters, and a wading depth of up to 700 millimeters were announced. The TIGGO X7 is also positioned as the first mass-production model of the brand’s new TIGGO X series.
COMFORT AND TRUNK EMPHASIS IN TIGGO 7
The new TIGGO 7 has dimensions of 4,600 millimeters in length, 1,870 millimeters in width, and 1,710 millimeters in height. The model’s wheelbase was announced as 2,700 millimeters. Chery plans to include gasoline and hybrid engine options in the vehicle. Shared technical data includes 115 kW of power, 220 Nm of torque, and a 45.79 percent efficiency rate. On the aerodynamic side, it is stated that the drag coefficient has dropped to 0.315.
While the diamond-pattern front grille draws attention in the design, comfort features were highlighted in the interior. The front seats feature eight-point massage, electric leg support, heating, and ventilation. The driver’s seat also includes lumbar support. Chery announced that it has extended the seating area of the front seats by 36 millimeters compared to the previous generation, reaching 536 millimeters.
For rear passengers, the seat backrests can be adjusted to an angle of 25 or 30 degrees. When the rear seats are folded down, a flat resting area of approximately two meters in length can be obtained. The standard trunk volume goes up to 505 liters. The 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats allow the passenger and cargo space to be arranged according to different needs.
The electric tailgate can be opened via a light signal projected onto the ground when approaching the vehicle with the key. On the safety side, it is reported that high-strength steel is used in more than 80 percent of the body, and the vehicle contains more than 20 active safety and driving support functions. The company states that the model was developed with a five-star safety target. Advanced parking support and city and highway driving supports that use navigation data are also among the planned equipment; however, it is stated that these features may vary depending on the country and trim level.
TIGGO X7 HEADS OFF-ROAD
The TIGGO X7 comes with a more angular design that emphasizes its off-road character compared to the TIGGO 7. The model has dimensions of 4,636 millimeters in length, 1,970 millimeters in width, and 1,788 millimeters in height. The wheelbase is 2,700 millimeters, just like the TIGGO 7. A flat roofline, prominent fenders, and sharper body lines are among the main differences in the vehicle’s design.
Chery is preparing hybrid and plug-in hybrid options for the TIGGO X7. The model family will include front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions. The data announced by the company for this vehicle also includes 115 kW of engine power, 220 Nm of torque, and 45.79 percent engine efficiency.
In terms of driving modes, the TIGGO X7 offers economy, normal, and sport options for daily use. For off-road conditions, there are snow, mud, sand, mountain, rock, and wading modes. The system also has an additional function that supports acceleration when the gas pedal is pressed to the floor.
According to Chery’s data, the TIGGO X7’s ground clearance exceeds 200 millimeters. It was announced that the model offers a wading depth of up to 700 millimeters and a towing capacity of up to 1,500 kilograms. The low-speed off-road assist system works in conjunction with camera footage showing the surroundings and the underside of the vehicle. The brand calls this imaging feature “540 degrees.” The vehicle’s turning circle was shared as 11 meters.
