New crisis in the tourism sector: Major tourism company goes bankrupt! No refunds will be issued

Great Little Escapes, one of the UK's well-known travel firms, has announced that it has gone bankrupt due to financial difficulties.

The company suspended all operations as of June 13, and it was announced that existing bookings would be cancelled and no refunds would be provided to customers.

Economic difficulties following the pandemic have been further deepened by the Ukraine-Russia war and conflicts in the Middle East. This situation has led to the bankruptcy of many firms in the tourism sector.

Berkshire-based Great Little Escapes LLP ceased its operations following the cancellation of its Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL).

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) stated that the process of gathering information regarding the company is ongoing and that efforts to update their websites are continuing. However, both individual customers and travel agents have been warned not to submit refund claims at this time. The CAA emphasized that applications will not be accepted at this stage.

Furthermore, travel agents have been instructed not to refund payments received from customers that have not yet been transferred to the company. While no official statement has been made regarding which bookings have been cancelled, customers continue to wait in anxiety.
