Is it heading toward fascism at a run?

On Tuesday, I said, “Let’s write it clearly; the issue cannot be resolved without completely rejecting the lukewarm universe of postmodernism that promises a global paradise with its wet dreams, and the diseased mentality of the new world order. The paradigm needs to change,” and I set an appointment for today for those asking, “what do you mean?”

Let’s continue to evaluate the European Parliament election results, which are rocking the old continent like a cradle, by putting on our reading glasses.

In fact, the shift of the political needle to the right was an expected development. It was no surprise to anyone who has even a passing interest in these issues.

In the simplest terms, we can say that Europeans, who have had to face all the negative consequences of the intense wave of migration toward their countries in recent years, have shown their reactions and objections at the ballot box to the global system that causes, triggers, and even somehow encourages mass human mobility.

Of course, we must underline with a thick pen that the hegemonic country that established and operates this global system is the USA.

It is useful to read the results carefully and cool-headedly.

Especially if we examine the fact that right-wing and even far-right politics are gradually gaining strength, while moving outside the “leftist” jargon that is quite skilled at labeling anyone to its right as a “fascist,” we can decode the reactions and objections to globalization and its consequences, which serve the interests of the global capital barons led by the USA.

Otherwise, we will continue to paddle in the shallow waters of social media along with the keyboard warriors.

In the current state of affairs, socialism, or at least social democracy, should have been strengthening in Europe.

Under normal conditions, we should have expected political groups and parties that defend the individual, society, and the laborer, and that could curb the excesses of capital, to be at the forefront against the extremely dramatic consequences of globalization, such as uncontrolled migration, income inequality, social collapse, and environmental pollution across the world.

However, instead of following such groups, people have become unsteady in the spiral of identity politics and have seen right-wing parties as a security umbrella rather than following some simpletons—that is, fake leftists—who think they are leftists while sanctifying ethnicism, sectarianism, religiousness, and even sexism.

This is where the rub lies.

Right-wing parties did not show a strong, principled opposition to the neoliberal system, globalization, or the USA conducting diplomacy as if it were walking through a village without dogs. They hid their messages between the lines.

Instead, they used the issue of uncontrolled migration, refugees, and foreigners that this system causes and triggers.

They showed the “real and imminent danger” to the entire European electorate and asked for votes.

And they were successful.

We witnessed that left-wing parties could not overcome their refugee romanticism.

Clearly, they did not want to understand that those who have recently arrived at the gates of the old continent perceive Europe as a “free-for-all.”

They evaluate the Sharia cries of jihadists who have fled to Europe as freedom of expression, and our expatriates sacrificing animals in the parking lot of the apartment building where they live in Schaerbeek as “freedom of religion and conscience.”

When a Pakistani man who beat his girlfriend to a pulp just because she wore a miniskirt makes a defense in court saying, “beating women is in our culture,” they can support this by saying, “one must tolerate cultural differences.”

For example, they do not concern themselves with the rights of workers and laborers or the deteriorating income distribution across the world as much as they concern themselves with gay rights. They do not give up the political comfort of identity politics.

In Germany, about two-thirds of those receiving social assistance are neither German citizens nor do they have permanent residence permits. It is common knowledge that expatriates take a nice vacation in Turkey after receiving unemployment benefits.

Looking from another angle, as long as the left cannot redefine itself, cannot get rid of the unsteadiness of identity politics, does not principly oppose globalization, and does not stop tagging along behind the globalists, the old continent will shift further to the right, close in on itself, and become more conservative to protect itself. There is no need to be a political fortune teller; anyone whose eyes are not clouded can see this.

Politics does not tolerate a vacuum.

If we read the subtext, although the right-wing shift in Europe is currently manifesting itself within the framework of centralization, upholding the nation-state, and objecting to neoliberalism, globalization, and their consequences, it is not out of the question that it will soon enter the “heading toward fascism at a run” phase.

What is the solution?

Contingency planning and risk management only go so far... The wavy, dreamy world of postmodernism is dragging us all toward a dark future with an uncertain end. Let us end our article by saying that one must completely oppose this paradigm that has descended upon our lives like a bandit since the 80s and is dehumanizing humanity, as mere damage control does not solve the issues.
