The 'Mecca Agreement', 'Stability', and a divided CHP

Devlet Bahçeli is speaking at the MHP group meeting... He wants the Mecca Agreement, signed between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, to be implemented as soon as possible.                                 

He is greenlighting the deployment of Turkish soldiers to the front lines to stop the Yemeni Houthis who are in conflict with Saudi Arabia... And he is presenting this under the guise of "Fahrettin Pasha's Defense of Medina... Protecting the holy lands"... 

Who are the Houthis, whom Bahçeli has targeted, threatening? 

Saudi Arabia, the USA, and Israel... 

If you follow Saudi Arabia's lead and enter into a conflict with the Houthis, whose interests are you protecting? 

The questions are this clear and straightforward... And so are the answers... 

US President Trump had also said, in response to a question, that he could ask Erdoğan to intervene against the Houthis...

Kılıçdaroğlu, who sits in the CHP chairmanship seat with police support, also gives open support to the Mecca Agreement, just like Bahçeli. Stating that Turkey should be a "dominant" power in the region, Kılıçdaroğlu says, "If you are not a regional power, you will be crushed, you will perish." Explaining that he has also met with the Yemenis, Kılıçdaroğlu says, "I said that if Turkey is going there for the Mecca Agreement, it is going to ensure peace... You cannot imprison yourself within your own narrow borders."

According to New Party Chairman Özgür Özel, however, "sending Turkish soldiers to Yemen is nothing more than serving the interests of Israel and America." The Good Party (İyi Parti), DEM, the Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi), and the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) do not think differently from Özgür Özel... 

BAHÇELİ'S STABILITY

Every time Bahçeli speaks, he emphasizes "stability" and argues that Erdoğan must continue so that this so-called "stability" is not interrupted. 

I do not know what Bahçeli means when he says "stability," but yes, Turkey is being steadily robbed and plundered... Farmers and producers are crying tears of blood, yet Bahçeli talks about stability... Turkey's financial system is being shaken by a fund scandal reaching 100 billion dollars, but Devlet Bahçeli says "stability"... The division of opposition parties using state institutions and the imprisonment of opposition mayors are, according to Bahçeli, indicators of "stability"...                               He also accuses those who oppose this "stability order!" of being "puppets of imperialism"... 

The opposition says farmers and producers are in a difficult situation, while the AKP, MHP, and the null-and-void CHP say, "We must stop the Houthis"... The opposition says, "The country is being robbed through a fund scandal," while government spokespeople and the null-and-void CHP attack the opposition by saying, "There is bribery and robbery in the municipalities, we must cleanse ourselves"... Journalists who bring these issues to the agenda are thrown into prison, and news channels reporting on the fund scandal are seized...

THE DIVIDED CHP

The CHP has been split in two like a watermelon, and the New Party has been established... Both of their TBMM group meetings are on the same day... First, New Party Chairman Özgür Özel, and an hour later, in the same hall and at the same podium, comes the "absolutely void" Chairman of the CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu... Every week, Kılıçdaroğlu takes the podium amidst chants of "Hero Kemal" and speaks amidst chants of "Cleansing our way to power." One of the slogans frequently repeated in the hall while Kılıçdaroğlu speaks is, "We shall see beautiful days, sunny days..." 

How can a person see beautiful days by dividing their party, by having it divided... 

Kılıçdaroğlu, who shared the same table with AKP officials at the wedding of CHP MP Gürsel Erol's son two days ago, had said in a television program he attended that Erdoğan had "no knowledge" of the Fund Scandal... His speech is so full of contradictions; a budget paying 4 trillion TL in interest, 539 billion dollars in foreign debt, but a regional power, a dominant power Turkey! 

Judging by Kılıçdaroğlu's recent rhetoric and actions, it is as if he has been grafted onto the government... He claims the fund scandal is a settling of scores within the government... He recalls Erdoğan's words regarding the fund scandal, "Wherever it leads, we will go to the end," and says, "We expect this promise to be kept... We will be the followers of this"...  

He calls for "cleansing and clean politics" from those who split his party in two like a watermelon and threw his party's strongest candidate into dungeons.

HALK TV SILENCED

While Turkey is going through such an extraordinary period and is reeling from the fund scandal, Halktv has been silenced. Moreover, immediately after Kılıçdaroğlu targeted Halktv. Turkey's most-watched news channel was seized on the morning of October 14, 2026, at 05:30. Just like in the coup periods...                  

Halktv, which for a time followed him step by step, made the voice of the opposition heard, and tried to practice journalism despite all pressures and obstacles, is being seized, and there is not a peep from Kılıçdaroğlu. Then he comes out and tries to give lectures on rights, law, and justice, and in the evening, he sits side-by-side at the wedding table with the AKP's top core team...

When Startv, Star Gazetesi, and the assets of the Uzans were seized, the Doğan Group, the Akşam Group, and the Ciner Group were all on the side of the AKP government with all their might. They watched the lynching of the Uzan Group, and even applauded... Then, step by step, it was their turn. One by one, they were all silenced... I am a witness to this process, having lived it personally within the Doğan Media Group's illustrious television channels, Kanal D and CNNTürk... 

Not long ago, KRT was silenced first. Then operations were carried out against Flash and subsequently TELE1, and they were silenced. Weak reactions arose... Of course, they did not stop and will not stop, and finally, Turkey's most-watched news channel was seized, and some are making statements saying, "My dear, newspaper owners should not have other businesses."

Of course, newspaper owners should not have businesses other than journalism... We can have this debate on any platform, but today, in a country where democracy is crippled and the media is largely silenced, if a government-backed operation is being carried out against a news channel that is still highly watched despite everything—and this operation is being carried out right in the middle of the fund scandal that is shaking the government—one needs to stop and think before speaking...

A day before, Turkey was talking about the 90 billion dollar fund scandal... There is not a single resignation from the CMB (SPK), the BRSA (BDDK), the Borsa İstanbul, the Ministry of Economy, or MASAK... A loss of 90 billion dollars is being mentioned, but there is no one responsible... They have become victims of their own desires... They have followed the devil... They act as if the problem is solved when Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya returns the money... 

POLITICAL ENGINEERING

The current government acts as if it has suspended the Constitution. Clear court decisions are not implemented. This is not enough; the power and institutions of the state are being used to redesign politics. Diplomas are being canceled, and the current government's biggest political rival is being thrown into prison with accusations of "secret witness" and "false witness." That is not enough; an operation is being carried out by the state against the biggest alternative to the government, the only political party that could change the government in an election. 

Those who once directed accusations of "political engineering" are now succeeding in dividing the main opposition party by performing the ultimate version of that "political engineering" they spoke of. The same thing that happened in the MHP in 2016–2017 has happened in the CHP. Devlet Bahçeli was kept at the head of the party with government support and judicial decisions, and then he leaned toward the AKP, and then the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) was established. Today, a similar scenario is being applied to the CHP. A name who has lost 13 elections and is politically finished in the eyes of the nation and those who voted for him is being seated at the head of the CHP by police and force of arms... This is the picture... The process continues... From the AKP's perspective, the process is progressing as they wish. In fact, they have divided not only the CHP but also families...

NO ONE HAS A GUARANTEE

Turkey is governed today by a mindset that signs files without understanding or being able to understand what is put in front of it. A President who can sign on behalf of Kazakhstan instead of Turkey in the memorandum of understanding at the Organization of Turkic States Summit, which was watched in front of millions, manages the country as the sole decision-maker. A person who can or cannot sign in this way, who knows what other files or agreements they are signing without fully understanding. 

Every day, urgent expropriation decisions... The seizure of the nation's villages, vineyards, and gardens under the guise of public interest... There is no longer any guarantee for anyone's property or assets in Turkey. At any moment, anyone's property or assets can be seized, and they can be thrown into prison... 

Farmers and villagers do not want to harvest their products... A producer who sold at 60-70 last year is being forced to sell their olives in the 20-30 band this year... The base price for hazelnuts is said to be 250 TL, but people are struggling to sell their hazelnuts for 150 TL... It is the same with olives, the same with hazelnuts, the same with lemons, the same with grapes... While they should be providing 630 billion TL in farmer-producer support according to the law, the support they provide is 168 billion TL...

Amidst all this dust and smoke, on one hand, fund scandals, and on the other, lucrative tenders and urgent expropriations continue at full speed... After the urgent expropriations in Thrace, Diyarbakır, and Amasya, now urgent expropriation decisions in Antalya...  

The password is "Public interest" and "development..." It is clearly evident that the nation, the farmer, the producer, and the laborer are not developing... So whose "interest" and whose "development..." 

It is as if Turkey has been written off... As if they are saying, "It will turn into a desert with the climate disaster anyway, let us get on with our business..." We have written it before, and we are writing it once again: imperialist capitalists have assigned Turkey the role of a "raw material depot" in the world's new power struggle period... And unfortunately, the government governing Turkey has accepted this... It gives the message, "Do not touch me, we are ready for cooperation," and beyond giving it, it is taking the requested steps one by one. Give legitimacy, take Turkey... However, manpower is also needed for these things... You can make the people born and raised in Turkey do work up to a point, because after a point, they will say, "This is too much," and they are saying it. Then the millions of refugees and illegal immigrants filled into Turkey will come into play, and they are. Go to the mining regions... In many of them, immigrants who have come to the country legally or illegally are working... 

For once, make your urgent expropriations for the people, for the benefit of the people...                                         

There are so many things to be done for the benefit of the people, for the people... There are so many projects that municipalities need to carry out in cooperation with the central government... But under the guidance of imperialist economic hitmen, all their projects are based on plunder and looting...                             

Now they are dragging Turkey into the quagmire of extractivism, that is, colonial mining. They want to make Turkey the center of colonial mining, of plunder-and-loot mining.                   Every region, every city, every mountain is being licensed to companies... 

Trump pats Erdoğan on the back at every opportunity, but the result is zero... The F-16 modernization, the F-35s that were not delivered even though they were paid for, and the issue of the Kaan Fighter Jet's engines are still serious question marks. The American administration supposedly wants to deliver the F-35s, but the S-400s are still a problem... In other words, the US administration wants to see "what we said happen"...

Meanwhile, what Trump wants is being fulfilled one by one. Extractivism, that is, colonial mining, continues at full speed... The process of handing over massive areas in Diyarbakır and Thrace to Trump's close friend, oilman Harold Hamm, through urgent expropriation decisions is being initiated... In the Beylikova and Sivrihisar districts of Eskişehir, an area of approximately 3 million square meters is being seized with an urgent expropriation decision for NTE mining, just as promised to Trump... 

Turkey is going through an extraordinary period... We are a country where neither democracy nor institutions are in effect as they should be... Unemployment, poverty, and the cost of living are at their peak... Producers, farmers, and laborers are crying tears of blood... Retirees and minimum wage earners are in revolt... Undoubtedly, more than half of this country thinks that the current government must now change. The last local elections are the most concrete indicator of this... 

On one hand, steps are being taken to send soldiers to Yemen and drag Turkey into a war that Trump wants, and on the other hand, every corner of the country is being opened to international cartels...                  

Despite everything, the Turkish people are looking for a branch to hold onto... Neither history nor the nation will forgive those who break this branch...
