I cannot fathom the purpose of politicians

The foundation of nation-states is national unity. National unity rests on two pillars: one is a policy respectful of religion and identities, and the other is a strong economy. In the new world order where both of these pillars are being dismantled, while the individual is brought to the fore, sub-identities are also being strengthened and pushed into the political arena, eroding the fabric of the nation-state. At first glance, these political tools, which appear to be in line with democracy and human rights, are understood upon deeper analysis to be effective tools of exploitation for the neoliberal era. We must calmly discuss why such tricks are being resorted to in this period when capitalism is squeezed, while respecting different religions and different identities.

Our country is being dragged into a great chaos. In this election, which is local in nature but practically determines the fate of Turkey, have you seen any of the parties touch upon even the slightest of the country's deep wounds, other than trying to grab a seat? The coalition partners of the government, like Japanese sumo wrestlers, can neither defeat each other nor separate, because they are dependent on one another. If all political parties in the government and the opposition had interesting theses in favor of the country, all of them could be debated. However, neither the theses of the government partners nor those of the fragmented opposition groups are of a nature to be debated. More accurately, there are no tangible, meaningful theses to be seen on either side. The sole purpose of all parties is to be successful in the race to grab a seat.

It is seen that the parties do not go beyond directing meaningless criticism at each other. This means that in such a haphazard march, whoever takes the seat, there will be no major change in the fate of the country. Unfortunately, this is exactly the situation our people are facing. While our people are being dragged into a constitutional debate over the Constitution-Court of Cassation conflict, the introduction of the Islam card is a clear signal that the unchangeable articles of the current Constitution will also be brought into play. This situation is an imposition on the public. Well, if this is the case, why is such an imposition being made on the public? This point, where the questions are knotted, is the game being played on Turkey in world politics, perhaps independent of the goal, through the party and/or parties preparing for the election. The nature and purpose of this policy is to drag Turkey into a divide-and-rule environment.

Now let's come to the sub-identity debate. Although this debate is not new, it is heated up and presented as a trump card to politicians as capitalism gets squeezed. Turkey is a mosaic nation community in every respect. This mosaic structure, reflected as sub-identities, is the foundation of our nation's economic and philosophical power as much as it is its sociological richness. The expression of a society united in fate and joy is only possible through a togetherness built on mutual legal understanding and individual respect, without fragmenting this richness. So, why can't we establish and sustain such a togetherness? Because capitalism is at work within the nation as much as it is on the international level. The development of the East is against the West's need for cheap labor. The development of the East is contrary to the West's need for capital, which is a scarce resource. Well, if this is the case, why does no party point this out and put forward policies to be used in finding a middle ground?

On another note, how is it that the preference of the local people is mostly directed not to the party or parties that will serve the interests of the regional people, but to the political cadre that serves imperialism? It seems that in this situation, the people are crushed, the landlords, sects, and other organizations that mask their political purpose deceive and exploit the people for their own interests, and in this case, the politicians who come to power with the votes of the people themselves do not show the necessary care for their voter base. Now can I explain how imperialism's dazzling, malignant game in the Middle East can sometimes fall upon society like a bomb with emotional, sacred, or jingoistic expressions!

Let's come to the issue of secularism. It is known by everyone that the vast majority of the Turkish people are attached to the religion of Islam. Islam did not come to this country in the last twenty years, nor did it flourish in the last twenty years. On the contrary, it can be said that in the last twenty years, like all institutions, Islam has been seriously corrupted, destroyed, used as a tool for politics and market cunning, and even used as a veil for corrupt social and political lives. We are unfortunately all witnessing how some institutions operating under the guise of religious organizations have become corrupted.

In our country, everyone who carries a Turkish passport has a different religious belief and understanding. The most obvious difference, merit, and even superiority of the Islamic religion over other Abrahamic religions is that it is not institutionalized, and no class, group, institution, or human can come between the Creator and the servant. Furthermore, while the provision that there can be no compulsion in religion is clear and explicit in the Holy Book, the religious condition put forward as if to be able to hold a Turkish citizenship passport, and a religious condition in the context of a specific form and Sharia, does not fit the definition of a nation, nor the definition of a single nation. This is exactly the project of ensuring the division of peoples through the religious institution that imperialism has deliberately hardened.

The US, which put forward the "green belt" thesis during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, for some reason, while presenting Turkey as a model to the Islamic world after the collapse of the Soviets, this time put forward the "moderate Islam" thesis. We see that the only quality of a good Muslim taught to our people has become the slogan of "the forehead touching the ground in prostration." The forehead touching the ground in prostration is a matter between the Creator and the servant. In contrast, the merit or humanity sought among individuals is the individual's relationship with other individuals or their behavior in social or business life. Prioritizing only the formal practice without entering into the profound philosophy of the sacred faith, and in a way that even the rules related to it can be violated, is neither a service to religion nor to the nation. This policy is entirely the destruction of the sacred faith sphere. In this way, a whole nation is being transformed from the servitude of the Creator to the servitude of the imperialist.

The fact that the peoples of our country are generally closed to the outside provides politicians, independent of the goal, with a brilliant, enormous maneuvering space in the short term against long-term national interests. This is where the true understanding of religion and morality and the view of serving one's country of politicians are revealed in this test of interest versus sacrifice. A political structure that has collapsed the economy to this extent violating secularism and remaining indifferent to the issue of ethnic identity is practically an invitation to social conflict.

Such a fragile period for the world and Turkey requires political cadres with philosophical views and scientific qualifications who can manage the country's different views and interests with wisdom. However, politicians cannot do much for the benefit of the country beyond chasing seats and personal security. A country governed by such incompetent administrators falls, or is made to fall, into an economic or political crisis pit at an unexpected moment, just as we are experiencing now. While system volunteers trying to pull the country out of this fall extend a helping hand, they push the country into deeper wells, because hungry wolves who want to grab a share in the capitalist world rush to help with velvet gloves. With the hope that our people will evaluate politicians in line with their own true interests and the interests of the country, here is to better days!
