Climate activists throw soup at Claude Monet painting
Works of art have once again become the target of climate activists. A group called Riposte Alimentaire threw soup at Claude Monet's Spring (Le Printemps) painting. It was reported that two activists were arrested.
Climate activists, who have been targeting works of art for some time, have made their voices heard once again with a Monet painting.
Just weeks after their attack on Da Vinci's Mona Lisa at the Louvre, environmental fanatics targeted a Monet work in an environmental protest by throwing soup over Le Printemps.
THEY CARRIED OUT AN ATTACK
After staging a similar demonstration against the Mona Lisa last month, climate activists threw soup at the Monet painting in the French museum two days ago.
In a statement from the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, France's third-largest city, it was stated that an attack was carried out on Claude Monet's Spring (Le Printemps) painting.
THEY WERE ARRESTED
The museum said the 1872 painting was protected by glass but would still undergo close inspection and restoration.
The museum added that it would file a complaint due to the vandalism and that two activists had been arrested.
The group called Riposte Alimentaire, which carried out the action by calling for a sustainable and healthy food supply for everyone, had also claimed responsibility for the soup attack on the Mona Lisa painting, which is also behind glass at the Louvre Museum, in January.
