4-story building collapsed in Konya... Statement from Ali Yerlikaya: 4 prosecutors assigned

A 4-story building located on Beyşehir Street in the Selçuk neighborhood of Konya's Selçuk district has collapsed.

Three of the 5 people trapped under the rubble were rescued alive, and search and rescue efforts for the remaining 2 people are ongoing.

Following the instructions of the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which launched an investigation into the collapsed building, 4 suspects alleged to be responsible for the incident have been detained.

It was stated that those detained are the owners of the shops located on the ground floor of the building.

It was learned that detailed examination and investigation procedures are continuing at the scene, accompanied by a team of expert witnesses and public prosecutors.

Following the incident, which occurred in the evening hours, a judicial investigation was launched by the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and one deputy chief public prosecutor and 2 public prosecutors were assigned. 

ALI YERLIKAYA PROVIDED INFORMATION ON THE LATEST SITUATION 

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said in his latest statement that an investigation into the incident has been launched and that 4 prosecutors have been assigned to the case.  

Yerlikaya stated that they visited the 3 injured individuals from the accident and that their health status is quite good.

Yerlikaya noted that search and rescue operations in the region have concluded and debris removal work has begun.
