A person lost their life after casting their vote in Manisa
In the Alaşehir district of Manisa, 73-year-old Hasan Çay passed away due to a heart attack after casting his vote.
After casting his vote at ballot box number 1087 set up at the Celal Şükrü Sayınsoy Primary School for the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, Hasan Çay fell ill in the classroom. When Çay fell from his chair, poll workers intervened.
Çay, who was taken to Alaşehir State Hospital by ambulance, could not be saved.
Eyewitness Cafer Saban stated, "Hasan Çay cast his vote and then signed his name. He said he felt unwell and sat on a chair. Then he said my name, 'Cafer,' and fell. We immediately called an ambulance."
Hasan Çay's nephew, Mustafa Çay, stated that he went to the same school as his uncle to vote, saying, "We voted at separate ballot boxes, then I returned home. When we learned he had fallen ill, we came to the hospital. We are very sad."
