A strange incident at the Istanbul Courthouse: Tried to enter as a lawyer to see her FETÖ-suspect husband...
A suspect was apprehended at the Istanbul Courthouse after attempting to enter to see her husband, who had been brought in under custody as a FETÖ suspect, by posing as a lawyer.
The Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Smuggling Crimes Bureau and MIT continue their investigation, which has already resulted in the arrest of 28 people, following a joint operation aimed at identifying and apprehending suspects within the current women's structure of FETÖ.
On May 10, when 38 people were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse following police processing, two individuals claiming to be lawyers requested to meet with Kübra A., one of the suspects whose proceedings were underway at the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism and Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau.
While lawyer A.A. presented their identification, the person wearing a lawyer's robe was denied entry to the office by security personnel after claiming they had forgotten their ID in their vehicle in the parking lot.
During this time, police and courthouse security teams, acting on the individual's suspicious behavior, conducted an investigation and determined that the person was Mustafa A., the husband of Kübra A., who had been brought in under custody as part of the FETÖ operation.
It was determined that the suspect had entered the courthouse through the public entrance and had obtained the lawyer's robe from the bar association room.
Mustafa A. was taken into custody and was later released under judicial control measures by the judgeship to which he was referred following his processing.
Meanwhile, it was learned that Kübra A. was among the 28 suspects who were arrested.
DETAILS OF THE OPERATION
In the operations conducted on May 7 at addresses identified in 4 districts as part of efforts targeting FETÖ's current women's structure, 38 people were apprehended. Following police processing, 28 of the suspects referred to the courthouse were arrested, while 10 were released under judicial control measures.
During searches of the addresses, 41 thousand 550 dollars, 1 kilogram of gold, and numerous organizational documents and digital materials were seized.
