Academic and author Fatih Yaşlı: It became a lifeline for the government, the opposition doesn't even care
Academic and author Fatih Yaşlı made a striking assessment regarding the effects of developments in Syria on Turkish politics.
In a post on the social media platform X, Yaşlı stated that the situation in Syria has been a great source of morale for political Islamist movements in Turkey and has offered the AKP government an opportunity to extend its political lifespan.
In his statement, Yaşlı included the remarks, "Developments in Syria have practically become a lifeline for the AKP government.
This situation increases the possibility of extending the President's political life."
Expressing that the opposition in Turkey is either unaware of this process or does not care enough about this situation, Yaşlı emphasized that the opposition maintains an indifferent attitude toward such strategic moves.
