Administrative fines for retail trade in 2026 have been determined

Fines for exorbitant pricing and market-disrupting activities

The noteworthy items of the communiquéregarding violationsunder "Annex 1 Article"were the increases:

Exorbitant Price Increases (Annex 1/1): Lower limit 180,617 TL, upper limit increased to 1 million 806 thousand 177 TL.Activities Creating Market Scarcity (Annex 1/2): Lower limit 1 million 806 thousand 177 TL,

upper limit was set at 21 million 674 thousand 130 TL. The new regulations aim to curb unfair trade practices.These measures are part of the government's ongoing efforts to protect consumers.

Other fines to be applied in accordance with the first paragraph of Article 18 of the Law have been updated asfollows:

Campaign and premiumviolations [18/1-a(1)]: 57,241 TL

Largeand chain storeviolations (18/1-c): 180,429 TL

General violations (18/1-c): 90,195 TL

Allocation of space and area violations (18/1-d, e, h): Amounts ranging between 360,884 TL and 902,256 TL.Amounts ranging between 360,884 TL and 902,256 TL.

Violationof working hours (18/1-ı): 17,988 TL

Obstructing inspections or failure to provide documents (18/1-j): Between 143,102 TL and 715,516 TL.

Total fine amountsthat can be applied within a calendar yearand upper limits have also been redetermined:

Small-scale businesses: 36 million 123 thousand 551 TL

Medium -scale bbusinesses: 361 million 235 thousand 514 TL

Large-scale businesses: 1 billion 806 million 177 thousand 570 TL

The provisions of the communiqué will enter into force on January 1, 2026.
