Ahmet Akın receives his mandate in Balıkesir: 'I will be a hardworking mayor'

CHP's Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın received his mandate at a ceremony held at the Balıkesir Teachers' House. In his speech, Akın stated that they would be assertive, fair, and equal to everyone while managing the municipality, and that they would perform their duties without offending or marginalizing anyone.

Akın said, "I would like to thank my brothers and sisters from the AK Party, MHP, IYI Party, Saadet Party, DEVA Party, and Future Party who supported the Kuvayımilliye alliance that we established in Balıkesir and have insisted upon."

"I FILED A COMPLAINT"

Expressing that it is time to work like a bee day and night, Akın used the expression, "I will not be a mayor who sits in the office and accepts congratulations; I will be a hardworking mayor who is with the laborers, employees, civil servants, and our business world in the districts, villages, and neighborhoods."

Reminding that he had stated during the election campaign that there would be no partisanship in the municipality, Akın noted the following:

"Some insolent, ignorant people unfortunately hung a party flag on the municipal building without my knowledge. I am proud to be a member of the CHP, but the place for our party's flag is not the municipal building. If there is to be a flag of our party in the municipality, it is the Turkish flag. I have filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding the individuals who hung the CHP flag on the municipal building. No party flag should be hung on a public building; the only flag to be hung there is our glorious Turkish flag with the crescent and star."

At the ceremony, mandates were also presented to Karesi Mayor Mesut Akbıyık and Altıeylül Mayor Hakan Şehirli, who were elected to office in the central districts from the CHP.
