Allegations of 23 students being poisoned: Teachers attack members of the press

23 students attending the Servet Akaydın Primary and Secondary School, located in the Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood of Kayseri's Kocasinan district, were allegedly poisoned by the meatballs and bread they ate at the school.

After a number of students began vomiting, the situation was reported to medical teams. Upon the notification, numerous ambulances and police units were dispatched to the school. While the students were boarding the ambulances in tears, the teachers present in the schoolyard did not attend to the students and instead attacked the members of the press who were filming the incident.

The teachers, who engaged in verbal and physical attacks against the journalists, attempted to force them out of the school. During this time, some students also joined their teachers in hurling insults at the members of the press. The school principal was observed remaining silent in the face of these events.

"THERE IS REALLY A LOT OF NEGLIGENCE AT THE SCHOOL, I WILL FILE A COMPLAINT"

While the 23 students taken to the hospital were placed under treatment, a parent who learned about the incident at the school via social media expressed her outrage.

Stating that no one was interested in them or providing information, the female parent noted that there was a lot of negligence at the school and that she would file a complaint, saying, "We came to the school, they didn't give us any information. The security guard is giving us information. Is our contact person the principal or the teacher? They absolutely did not make a statement. They didn't call and tell us.

They tell us, 'If we call all of you, there will be a stampede here.' You call and tell us when it's about something else, so why don't you give me information in a situation like this? If my daughter came home from school and vomited, how would I know? Who would I blame at that moment? They say they ate meatballs. The principal didn't come out and make a statement. There is a lot of negligence at the school. There is really a lot of negligence. I will also file a complaint. They call about every little thing and say, 'your child has this mistake, this negligence,' so why don't they tell me this? They need to tell me. Isn't my child's life valuable? Who will be able to answer to me for this? No one can. I am filing a complaint. I want to do whatever is necessary," she said.

On the other hand, it was stated that the Provincial Directorate of National Education would also launch an investigation into the incident.
