Ayşe Hilal Sayan Koytak, the sister of former AKP minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, has begun her duties as Turkey's Ambassador to Helsinki. Koytak, the sister of Kaya—who was reported to have gained approximately 2 billion TL in a fund scandal and whose assets were allegedly frozen—presented her credentials to Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
Appointed to the Helsinki Embassy by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Koytak delivered her credentials to President Stubb the day before yesterday. With this step, Koytak has officially begun representing Turkey in Finland.
Koytak had previously served as a deputy undersecretary within the Ministry of Family and Social Policies during Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya's tenure as minister.
OTHER MEMBERS OF THE KAYA FAMILY HAVE ALSO HELD PUBLIC OFFICE
Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya's brother, Ömer Fatih Sayan, served as Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure for 8 years. In July 2026, Sayan was appointed as a Board Member of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
Kaya's other sister, Nazmiye Sümeyye Sayan, also served as a member of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Council in the past.
