With a Presidential decree published in the first week of August, the customs exemption for products sent to Turkey from abroad via mail or express cargo transport was reduced from 150 euros to 30 euros.
THE ERA OF FREE SHIPPING IS ENDING
With a regulation published in today's Official Gazette, an amendment was made to the Ministry of Trade's Circular No. 2022/9 dated 29.04.2022.
Accordingly, as of December 27, it has become mandatory to show the price actually paid or to be paid for the goods and the freight cost separately on the invoices of products purchased from abroad and brought in via mail or cargo.
With this circular, which will be effective from December 27, the 'free shipping' era for purchases made from abroad has technically come to an end.
3 EUROS WILL BE ADDED TO THE PRICE
According to the circular, in cases where the freight cost (shipping/cargo fee, etc.) is not shown separately on the invoices, an equivalent freight cost of 3 Euros will be added to the price actually paid or to be paid. In delivery methods where the freight cost is not included, and in cases where the submission of a freight receipt is impossible or not found to be acceptable, an equivalent freight cost of 3 Euros will again be added to the price actually paid or to be paid.
