Statement from Balıkesir Metropolitan Mayor Akın regarding AKP: There are those who want to steer this in a different direction

Stating that "there are always those who want to steer the agenda in a different direction," Ahmet Akın recalled that he did not leave the region day or night following the earthquake that occurred in Sındırgı. 

Expressing that his only agenda is to serve Balıkesir and that he does not even want to respond to empty rumors, Akın said, "There are fires, we are there. There is an earthquake, we are there. We are at the market, we are on the streets, we are always by our citizens' side. 

Our agenda is Balıkesir. There is no such thing. I did not even want to make a statement about this. There is no need for such a statement either," he said.

"IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME PERSONALLY"

Stating that he came together with tradespeople and citizens at the Saturday Market alongside CHP Balıkesir Provincial Chair Erden Köybaşı, Ahmet Akın said, "We share the troubles of our citizens. Our struggle is for our Balıkesir. I say at every opportunity that Balıkesir is the capital of the Kuvayı Milliye. 

We are in unity and solidarity, arm in arm and heart to heart with our nation. We are here, and we are at the head of our duty. We do not have any problems, we are continuing our struggle. 

These political discourses in question have absolutely nothing to do with me, with my person. My entire motivation is to serve Balıkesir. I will not allow such issues," he said.
