BREAKING NEWS... AFAD announces: Earthquake occurs off the coast of Büyükçekmece
A magnitude 3.5 earthquake occurred in the Sea of Marmara, off the coast of Büyükçekmece. The earthquake was also felt in surrounding districts.
According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a magnitude 3.5 earthquake occurred in the Sea of Marmara, approximately 21 kilometers from the Büyükçekmece district.
The earthquake was recorded on April 27, 2025, at 22:43. The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 9.36 kilometers, was felt in the western parts of Istanbul and surrounding districts.
