Breaking News: First statement from Akın Gürlek regarding the operation against the Furkan Foundation! Trustees appointed to manage 5 companies

Within the scope of an investigation conducted by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and carried out in coordination with the Adana Provincial Police Department, an operation was launched against the Furkan Foundation, known publicly as the "Kuytulcular."

During the operation carried out in the morning hours, a search was also conducted at the home of Furkan Foundation Founding President Alparslan Kuytul. In addition to Kuytul and his wife Semra Kuytul, a large number of foundation members were detained. The detained individuals were taken to the police station following health checks.

OPERATION AT 49 ADDRESSES IN 6 PROVINCES

Making a statement regarding the outcome of the operation, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that simultaneous operations were conducted at 49 addresses across 6 provinces as part of the investigation.

According to the information provided by Gürlek, judicial proceedings have been initiated against 32 suspects as part of the investigation.

It was stated that the suspects are being processed on charges of establishing and managing a criminal organization, membership in an organization, laundering assets derived from crime, aggravated fraud, forgery of official documents, and opposition to the Tax Procedure Law.

TRUSTEES APPOINTED TO MANAGE 5 COMPANIES

Within the scope of the investigation, it was also decided to appoint trustees to manage 5 companies.

On the other hand, a decision was made to block access to 349 social media accounts deemed to be conducting activities in favor of the organization.

Gürlek stated that the investigation is being conducted in line with complainant and witness statements, financial analyses, bank transactions, digital materials, and other evidence.

It was reported that the processing of the individuals detained as part of the investigation is ongoing at the police station.
