Striking comment from Fatih Altaylı following ROK's release
The behind-the-scenes information shared by Fatih Altaylı days ago, suggesting that Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı had become a cooperating witness and would be released, has returned to the agenda following Kütahyalı's release. Despite his lawyer Burak Mengü's denial of the claims, Altaylı made a notable assessment following the release decision.
The behind-the-scenes information Fatih Altaylı shared in his column days ago regarding the detention process of Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı has returned to the agenda following Kütahyalı's release.
In his article published on August 7, while sharing information he obtained regarding the media investigation, Altaylı included assessments from individuals who claimed to have seen a whistleblower statement allegedly in the possession of prosecutors.
Stating that Kütahyalı's lawyer, Burak Mengü, reached out to him after the allegations surfaced, Altaylı shared the message sent by Mengü in his subsequent article and noted that the lawyer had requested a meeting.
Altaylı stated that during his meeting with Mengü, the lawyer denied the allegations in question.
Reporting that Mengü said, "My client did not become a whistleblower. At least not to my knowledge," Altaylı wrote that the lawyer had also asked Kütahyalı about the matter and stated that Kütahyalı said he was not a whistleblower.
“EXACTLY AS I WAS TOLD…”
Following Kütahyalı's release yesterday evening, Fatih Altaylı penned a new, notable article.
In the section titled “The release we predicted,” Altaylı recalled that about a week ago, he had written that Kütahyalı was being held on charges such as illegal betting and money laundering, and that it was being discussed behind the scenes that he had become a whistleblower and would be released in the coming days.
Altaylı then noted that his lawyer, Burak Mengü, called him and said, “It is being talked about a lot, but these allegations are not true. My client did not become a whistleblower or anything of the sort,” and stated that he had published this explanation as well.
Following Kütahyalı's release, Altaylı made the following assessment:
“And yesterday evening, exactly as we said, exactly as I was told, Kütahyalı was released.”
“It means our sources of information were correct. Where there is smoke, there is fire.”
Here is the section titled ‘The release we predicted’ from Fatih Altaylı’s article today:
“About a week ago, I wrote that 'it is being discussed behind the scenes that Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı, who has been in custody for some time on charges such as illegal betting and money laundering, has become a whistleblower and will be released in the coming days.'”
Kütahyalı's lawyer Burak Mengü called and said, “It is being talked about a lot, but these allegations are not true. My client did not become a whistleblower or anything of the sort.”
I also shared this statement.
And yesterday evening, exactly as we said, exactly as I was told, Kütahyalı was released.
It means our sources of information were correct.
Where there is smoke, there is fire.”
