As legal proceedings continue following the death of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who was killed in a knife attack in Istanbul's Kadıköy district, a new scandal has been added to the case file.
THREAT AGAINST THE FAMILY'S LAWYER
Rezan Epözdemir, the lawyer representing the Minguzzi family, came under threat while drawing public attention through statements she made in connection with the murder case. According to information obtained, a formal complaint was filed with the prosecutor's office against a person who directly targeted and threatened lawyer Epözdemir via social media.
ARREST WARRANT ISSUED
Within the scope of the investigation into the threats, an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
HIS MOTHER BEGINS PROTEST ACTION
Ahmet Minguzzi's mother, Yasemin Minguzzi, began a solo sit-in protest at Bakırköy Square following her son's stabbing death, calling for the enforcement law to be revised.
Mattia Ahmet's mother Yasemin Minguzzi said: "I receive death threats every day, even being here right now is a risk for me, but I am not afraid. Please stand up — what happened to me today should not happen to your child tomorrow. Everyone on social media says they support me, but there is no one at the courthouse."
