RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin announced that the broadcasting ban regarding the hotel fire in Bolu, which became a grave for 76 people, has been lifted. 76 people lost their lives and many others were injured in the fire that broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu Kartalkaya.
Immediately following the fire, a broadcasting ban was imposed as a series of negligences came to light, a decision that was met with backlash.
Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) President Ebubekir Şahin announced that the broadcasting ban has been lifted.
Making a statement via his social media account, Şahin used the following expressions:

The broadcasting ban issued by the Bolu 2nd Criminal Judgeship of Peace within the scope of the investigation conducted regarding the hotel fire at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center has been lifted. Details regarding the decision have been published on our official website.
I wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in this tragic event, and a speedy recovery to our injured.
We thank all our media organizations that complied with the broadcasting ban and acted with a sense of responsibility. In the coming process, we kindly ask our broadcaster friends to conduct their reporting carefully, observing the sensitivities of the families affected by the incident."
