Child sexual abuse at Süleymancı dormitory in Istanbul!

Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz, in his column today, reported on the sexual abuse suffered by an 11-year-old child at the Private Osmangazi Arifiye Middle School Boys’ Student Dormitory affiliated with the Süleymancılar.

Quoting student Y.’s statement, “The teacher would get me out of bed, take me to his room and rape me. This act first started 6-7 months before the summer holiday. He approached me from behind and raped me. He did these acts many times. I do not remember how many times he did it. He would pull down his own trousers and my underwear and rape me from behind. It hurt. A white liquid would come out on his underwear. I saw this liquid many times” Saymaz also conveyed mother G.’s outcry: “It is not enough for the imam to be arrested; that Süleymancı dormitory must be shut down”.

G., who says the dormitory’s lawyers stated, “Are you going to sacrifice the institution for one rotten apple?” notes that parents have still not been informed.

According to Saymaz, following Y.’s statements, 22-year-old imam İ.S was detained.
