Speaking to T24, Tanrıkulu stated that Demirtaş has been held in prison for years at the center of political situations regarding Turkey's Kurdish issue, adding, "The European Court of Human Rights and the Grand Chamber have repeatedly expressed their opinion and issued rulings that his detention was unjust, stating that the evidence was insufficient; however, these rulings were not implemented, and Demirtaş has continued to be kept in prison.
The case of Demirtaş, who was convicted through an unfair trial, is currently at the appellate stage. Demirtaş, who closely follows political developments, believes that a day will come when Turkey's Kurdish issue will be addressed independently of prisons and courtrooms," he said.
