Competition Authority fines Google

The Competition Authority has completed its investigation into the Google economic entity, consisting of Google Reklamcılık ve Pazarlama Ltd. Şti., Google International LLC, Google LLC, Google Ireland Limited, and Alphabet Inc., regarding alleged competition violations.

The Board determined that the company used its dominance in the ad server services market to provide an unfair advantage to its own supply-side platform (SSP) services. Consequently, an administrative fine of 2 billion 607 million 563 thousand 963 liras was imposed on the company under Article 6 of the Law on the Protection of Competition No. 4054.

The statement noted that no violation was found regarding the allegation that Google directed its dominance in the demand-side platform (DSP) services market toward its own SSP services, and therefore no fine was applied in that regard.
