Despite harsh police intervention in Saraçhane, IBDA-C members were patted on the back
In Istanbul, the identity of Ahmet Bostancı, who insulted Atatürk and is a member of the Great Eastern Raiders Youth Organization (Büyük Doğu Akıncıları Gençlik Teşkilatı), the youth wing of IBDA-C, has been revealed. In the events at Saraçhane, it was noted that, contrary to the footage showing police using disproportionate force, IBDA-C members were patted on the back and escorted away from the area.
It has emerged that Ahmet Bostancı, who was among the group that went to the Şehzadebaşı Mosque and who posted 'We are protecting our mosques with God's permission' and gave interviews on television, is the same person who was detained for insulting the founding leader of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, on November 10. Following footage showing historical tombstones in the cemetery at the Şehzadebaşı Mosque in Saraçhane Square in Istanbul being broken, the Great Eastern Raiders Youth Organization, the youth wing of IBDA-C, canceled its iftar program and held a protest in front of the mosque.
A group of IBDA-C youth who arrived at the Şehzadebaşı Mosque at iftar time chanted takbirs and shouted "War, jihad, martyrdom!"

SÖZCÜ TV shared an important detail regarding one of the individuals in the group. It reported that Ahmet Bostancı, who was part of the group, had been detained on November 10 for insulting Atatürk.

HARSH INTERVENTION FOR THOSE IN SARAÇHANE, IBDA-C MEMBERS PATTED ON THE BACK
While the police's harsh intervention during the gatherings in Saraçhane following the detention and arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been a subject of debate, it was also noted that the police patted the members of the IBDA-C group—who were shouting profanities and chanting takbirs in front of a female student dormitory—on the back as they escorted them away from the area.
