DEVA and Democrat Party to form a joint parliamentary group: Number of deputies and date announced

Enginyurt was a guest on the 'Kayıt Dışı' program aired on TELE1. Democrat Party Deputy Chairman Cemal Enginyurt announced that they would form a joint group in Parliament with DEVA. 

Making statements regarding the agenda during the program, Enginyurt said that the Democracy and Progress Party (DEVA) and the Democrat Party have reached the sufficient number of 20 deputies to form a joint group in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

Stating that they plan to form a group with approximately 25 deputies, Enginyurt said, "We will see in October, God willing."

Enginyurt said the following:

-We have no intention of taking deputies from Kemal Bey (Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu) or the CHP. There are those who have left the IYI Party, people we think are unhappy with their party, and who we see even believe themselves that they will not be nominated in the next term.

"WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO SPEAK IN PARLIAMENT"

-We are saying let's form a group of around 25 with such a dialogue. Let's do this for the following reason: neither DEVA nor the Democrat Party has the right to speak in Parliament. Because we do not have a group, we cannot speak for even 1 minute. But there are very capable people in Parliament who can speak. For example, Salih Uzun, Haydar Altıntaş… I am speaking for the Democrat Party regarding farmers… In DEVA, Mehmet Emin Ekmen… Even if it seems a bit contrary to me, people like those of Southeastern origin, Mustafa Yeneroğlu… Even if we see them differently, they appeal to different segments with a humanist worldview. There is İdris Şahin, there is Elif Hanım. These are the ones that come to mind right now.

"WE WILL FORM IT IN OCTOBER"

-We can say we have reached 20. We have no problem with 20, that is. But we don't want it to be just 20. Because God forbid, someone could die or leave. Let there be a number exceeding 20 at least. We will see in October, God willing. If there is any incompetence, it will be on our part.

SEAT DISTRIBUTION IS AS FOLLOWS

Following the recent deputy transfers in the AKP and CHP, the seat distribution in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey has also changed in recent days.

The number of AKP deputies in Parliament rose to 266 after pinning badges on Ahmet Ersagun Yücel and Seyithan İzsiz.

With the participation of independent Adana Deputy Bilal Bilici, the number of seats held by the CHP rose to 128.

The Democracy and Progress Party (DEVA) has 15 deputies in Parliament.

The number of seats held by the Democrat Party in the TBMM is 3.

The number of deputies of other parties is as follows:

DEM Party (57), MHP (50), IYI Party (32), Felicity Party-Future Party (20), Independent Deputy (6), HÜDAPAR (4), New Welfare Party (4), TİP (3), Democratic Regions Party (2), Labor Party (2), DSP (1)

20 DEPUTIES ARE SUFFICIENT TO FORM A GROUP

The Democrat Party and DEVA have a total of 18 deputies in the TBMM. 20 deputies are sufficient to form a group in Parliament. If both parties transfer at least 2 deputies, there will be no obstacle to their plan to form a group.
