Emotional message from İmamoğlu for Gülşah Durbay: He did not forget Ferdi Zeyrek either...

Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, shared a farewell message for the late Mayor of Şehzadeler, Gülşah Durbay. In his post, İmamoğlu also commemorated the Mayor of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, Ferdi Zeyrek, who passed away on June 9.

İmamoğlu's post is as follows:

"Our dear Mayor Gülşah has closed her eyes to life.

When she was a candidate, I saw a young politician and female mayor before me who was ready to work with all her energy, confident that she would achieve absolute success when she won, and prepared at the highest level.

Our Mayor Gülşah did not prove us wrong. While winning the election; with the success she achieved through her humility and smiling face, and later with the sincere dialogue she established with her fellow citizens in Şehzadeler and her services, she never disappointed those who loved and believed in her.

She fought her battle against a relentless illness with great resistance and courage. However, this time it was not to be. She left us at a young age.

Our Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek also saddened us deeply with his untimely passing. During his short term in office, he brought very special emotions to these beautiful lands. By entrusting us with conscience, kindness, being a neighbor, and being a good person; and by reminding us of this great wisdom that is the source of our nation's strength, he was laid to rest on his eternal journey with the prayers of tens of millions.

Again in Manisa, our Mayor Gülşah reminded us all, at a very young age, to do good deeds without ego, to speak kind words, to smile, and that all of us souls are one and together in this heavenly homeland, and she was sent off to the eternal realm by a massive crowd.

We pray for our good and kind-hearted mayors.

May their souls rest in peace. May their place be in heaven.
