Erdoğan signs: Regulation applied in the TSK since 1983 has ended
The regulation governing the disciplinary processes of civilian civil servants working in the TSK, which had been in effect since 1983, has been completely abolished by a decision of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan published in the Official Gazette.
The regulation governing the disciplinary processes of civilian civil servants working in the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) has been abolished. The decision entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette with the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
With the regulation titled "Regulation on the Repeal of the Regulation on Disciplinary Boards and Disciplinary Supervisors for Civil Servants Employed in the Turkish Armed Forces," the fundamental legislation regarding the disciplinary operations of civilian personnel within the TSK has been completely removed.

43-YEAR-OLD REGULATION ENDS
The abolished regulation was adopted by a Council of Ministers decision dated March 11, 1983, and entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette on April 4, 1983. The regulation, which had been in effect for approximately 40 years, formed the main framework for the disciplinary processes of civil servants working in the Turkish Armed Forces.
In this context, the structure of disciplinary boards, the powers and responsibilities of disciplinary supervisors, and the procedures for investigation and decision-making were defined in detail. Furthermore, this legislation determined which disciplinary board would handle proceedings for which personnel within the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, and the force commands.
DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES TIED TO HIGHER LEGISLATION
With the new decision, while the regulation in question has been completely abolished, it is anticipated that disciplinary procedures for civilian civil servants working in the TSK will henceforth be carried out within the framework of existing higher legislation and other relevant regulations. The details of the implementation are expected to be clarified through administrative regulations.
