Fire in Beykoz, Istanbul caused by fireworks

A fire that broke out in a wooded area in Beykoz, Istanbul, was extinguished by fire crews before it could spread. The fire was caused by the firing of a signal flare.

Fire in Beykoz, Istanbul caused by fireworks

The fire broke out around 21:00 in a wooded area located on Sarıkaya Street in the Çiğdem neighborhood of Beykoz. A signal flare was fired into the area by unidentified individuals. The fire started in the wooded area when the flare landed.

Upon notification by citizens who saw the fire, numerous fire, police, and municipal police teams were dispatched to the scene. With the timely intervention of the fire crews, the fire was brought under control and extinguished before it could grow. Approximately 500 square meters of land were damaged in the fire.

Police teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
