Flights suspended at Sabiha Gökçen Airport

A cargo plane en route to Dammam made an emergency landing at Sabiha Gökçen Airport due to a malfunction in its landing gear.

The Boeing B748 type aircraft, with tail registration LX-VBC, belonging to a private cargo company and operating the Luxembourg-Dammam flight, experienced a problem with its landing gear. Following this, the pilot contacted the Sabiha Gökçen Airport Air Traffic Control Tower and requested permission for an emergency landing.

Upon this request, airport ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting) teams were kept on standby, and the airport was closed to flights for a period of time.

The cargo plane landed safely at 22:45, and no negative incidents occurred.

It has been learned that air traffic at Sabiha Gökçen Airport has returned to normal.
