Former CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to pay compensation to President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan
Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will pay compensation to President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Ankara Regional Court of Justice has upheld the decision of the court of first instance, which ruled that former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu must pay non-pecuniary damages to President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the grounds that his statements constituted an attack on personal rights.
President Erdoğan's lawyer, Hüseyin Aydın, provided the following information in a statement on his social media account:
"The non-pecuniary damages lawsuit we filed against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu due to his baseless accusations against our President has been definitively concluded by the 25th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice. Kılıçdaroğlu has paid 138 thousand 138 liras, including compensation and ancillary costs."
