The health status of İSKİ General Manager Şafak Başa, who was among those detained in the second wave of operations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), has become a topic of discussion. While detention warrants were issued for 53 people in the operation carried out in the morning hours, police teams searched the homes of suspects, including İSKİ General Manager Şafak Başa and Deputy Secretary General of the IMM Arif Gürkan Alpay.
It was learned that the detention warrants were issued in line with the statements of Kültür A.Ş. General Manager Murat Abbas, who was released last week after benefiting from effective remorse provisions.
SERIOUS HEALTH CONDITION
It has emerged that Şafak Başa, who was detained as part of the operation, has serious health problems. According to the report by Halktv, Başa's epicrisis report indicates that he is battling chronic ischemic heart disease and hypertension. It was also stated that he recently underwent bypass surgery and an angiography.
RISK OF STENT PLACEMENT
According to the report, it was also noted that there is a possibility that Şafak Başa may require a stent in the future. This situation has raised concerns that the detention process and potential imprisonment could carry serious health risks.

Başa's medical documents also include information that he underwent an angiography at the hospital on March 4, 2025, and was discharged the following day, March 5, 2025.
