The "lay down arms and dissolve" call made by PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan to the organization has created a rift within the terrorist group. While Öcalan wants all members of the organization to lay down their arms and disperse, the PYD/YPG, which is the PKK's branch in Syria, announced that this call does not bind them.

Mazlum Abdi, one of the so-called leaders of the YPG, stated in his remarks, "The PKK's call to lay down arms concerns them; it does not cover our forces in Rojava," claiming that their own interlocutor is the Damascus administration.

Yeşiltepe emphasized the organic relationship between the two sides, saying, "The Israeli press wrote about three weeks ago that the YPG requested aid from Israel. The YPG asked for support from Israel to prevent the US from withdrawing from the region."

Ilham Ahmed, the so-called foreign relations official of the terrorist organization YPG, also spoke to The Jerusalem Post, one of Israel's leading media outlets, in recent days and said that Israel should also be at the table during the peace process. This statement caused Israel's ties with the terrorist organization to be exposed once again.

NEW EQUATION IN SYRIA

What kind of process will unfold in Syria following Öcalan's call is a matter of great curiosity. The YPG's refusal to lay down arms and its announcement that it remains outside the process have complicated the equation in Syria.

It has been stated that this stance by the YPG has created discomfort within the organization and could also pose a new security threat for Turkey.
