Is Israel behind the terrorist organization YPG? He explained the aid that arrived 3 weeks ago
While the call by PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan to lay down arms and dissolve the organization has caused a stir, the organization's Syrian branch, the YPG/PYD, announced that this call does not cover them. As the impact of the process on regional balances remains a subject of curiosity, Israel's support for the YPG has also come back to the agenda.
The "lay down arms and dissolve" call made by PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan to the organization has created a rift within the terrorist group. While Öcalan wants all members of the organization to lay down their arms and disperse, the PYD/YPG, which is the PKK's branch in Syria, announced that this call does not bind them.
Mazlum Abdi, one of the so-called leaders of the YPG, stated in his remarks, "The PKK's call to lay down arms concerns them; it does not cover our forces in Rojava," claiming that their own interlocutor is the Damascus administration.
ISRAEL-YPG RELATIONSHIP BACK ON THE AGENDA
tv100 Foreign News Editor Ahmet Yeşiltepe drew attention to Israel's connection with terrorist organizations in the region in his assessment of the issue. Stating that the steps Turkey has taken in Syria recently have disturbed Israel, Yeşiltepe expressed that Israel is seeking new collaborations to protect the terrorist organization YPG.
Yeşiltepe emphasized the organic relationship between the two sides, saying, "The Israeli press wrote about three weeks ago that the YPG requested aid from Israel. The YPG asked for support from Israel to prevent the US from withdrawing from the region."
Ilham Ahmed, the so-called foreign relations official of the terrorist organization YPG, also spoke to The Jerusalem Post, one of Israel's leading media outlets, in recent days and said that Israel should also be at the table during the peace process. This statement caused Israel's ties with the terrorist organization to be exposed once again.
NEW EQUATION IN SYRIA
What kind of process will unfold in Syria following Öcalan's call is a matter of great curiosity. The YPG's refusal to lay down arms and its announcement that it remains outside the process have complicated the equation in Syria.
It has been stated that this stance by the YPG has created discomfort within the organization and could also pose a new security threat for Turkey.
WILL TURKEY AND ISRAEL FACE OFF IN THE REGION?
Some experts are evaluating the possibility that Israel could open a different front in this process by arming Druze groups against Damascus. If the YPG does not lay down its arms and Israel attempts to be active in the region, the possibility of Turkey and Israel facing off in the Syrian theater could strengthen.
