Following the defeat the AKP suffered in the local elections, eyes have turned to the expected adjustments in the cabinet as part of the change process initiated by the party.
It is being discussed that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will carry out a wide-ranging cabinet reshuffle in which at least 4-5 ministers will be dismissed.
This change is expected to take place before the AKP congress to be held at the end of February.
AKŞENER CLAIM WAS WIDELY DISCUSSED
During the debates over the cabinet reshuffle, the claim that İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener would be appointed as Vice President came to the agenda.
A striking comment on this claim, which was put forward by journalist Şaban Sevinç, came from TGRT Ankara Representative Fatih Atik.
Atik stated in a television program he attended, "The number of Vice Presidents will be increased to 2, but this position will not be offered to Meral Akşener. Even if it were offered, I do not think Akşener would accept it."
