Transfers were not enough for the AKP: Surprise result from the latest poll!
Pİ-AR Research Company shared the results of its general election poll conducted in 26 provinces. The gap between the CHP and the AKP drew attention.
While operations targeting municipalities held by the opposition have continued unabated following the conviction of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, the AKP has drawn attention with the 'transfers' it has made during this process. At its 24th anniversary event on August 14, the AKP saw 9 mayors transfer to the party.
Despite suffering a defeat in the March 31, 2024 local elections and falling to the position of the second party nationwide for the first time, the AKP has transferred exactly 56 mayors since that date. In particular, the transfer of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu caused controversy in politics.
Despite the transfers made, remarkable results emerged from the latest general election poll.
Pİ-AR Research shared the results of its poll conducted with 2,820 participants in 26 provinces between August 7 and 10.
In the poll, participants were asked, "If a general election were held this Sunday, which party would you vote for?" The results are as follows:
CHP: 31.8 percent
AKP: 30.8 percent
MHP: 8.4 percent
DEM Party: 7.8 percent
İYİ Party: 6 percent
Victory Party (Zafer Partisi): 4.8 percent
New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi): 3.7 percent
New Path Party (Yeni Yol Partisi): 1.7 percent
Local and National Party (Yerli ve Milli Parti): 1.7 percent
Workers' Party of Turkey (Türkiye İşçi Partisi): 1.2 percent
Other: 2.6 percent
