Giresun fan paints his building yellow and red out of love for Galatasaray

Mustafa Bayraktar (45), who lives in Giresun Yenimahalle, had his 5-story building painted in yellow and red using 60 kilos of paint due to his love for his team and to celebrate Galatasaray winning its 24th Super Lig championship.

Bayraktar also did not neglect to paint the Galatasaray logo and its 4 stars on the walls of the building. The house, which attracts the attention of neighborhood residents and passersby, has become a spot where some fans stop to take souvenir photos.

"EVERYONE LIVING IN THE BUILDING IS A GALATASARAY FAN"

Stating that he had his house painted yellow and red because Galatasaray became the champion, Bayraktar said, "My love for Galatasaray has existed for as long as I can remember. For this reason, I had the building I live in painted in the yellow and red colors I am passionate about. The yellow and red colors have now seeped into my blood. Since the building is a family apartment, I didn't have any problems getting it painted. Everyone living in the building is also a Galatasaray fan. When there is a Galatasaray match, they all come to my house. But none of them are as fanatical as I am.

That's why I painted the building myself with my own means and effort. Actually, I had painted it before, but not this much. However, it had faded over time. I was waiting for Galatasaray to become champion to paint it again. I gradually timed it to coincide with the championship, and I applied the final brushstroke the moment they became champions. I spent 60 kilos of yellow-red paint on the entire building," he said.

HE NAMED HIS SON HAGI

Explaining that he passed his love for Galatasaray on to his children, Bayraktar said, "I was thinking of giving my children the names of the iconic players who played for Galatasaray, but I didn't have children for many years. Ten years after I got married, I had triplets, one boy and two girls.

I named my son after Galatasaray's unforgettable player Hagi, but it was registered in the civil registry as Hacı; we still call him Hagi," he said.

Hacı, who knows the entire Galatasaray squad from recent years by heart, said, "I am also a Galatasaray fan from birth. I know all their squads from recent years by heart. I want to be a good football player myself, and I will go to a football school for this. I use my left foot well. I am someone who plays well as a center-forward or on the left wing. My dream is to wear a Galatasaray jersey in the future. From here, I would like to ask for a signed jersey for myself and my siblings from the Galatasaray President, who is our fellow townsman. This would make me and my family very happy."
