Great disrespect to Atatürk: Ugly consecutive attacks on Atatürk busts in İzmir

Life came to a standstill in Turkey yesterday at 9:05 AM, and millions  commemorated their Father with respect. However, some intolerant individuals targeted the Great Leader, causing a scandal.

ATTACKS ON THE BUSTS OF THE FATHER

The attacks carried out on Atatürk busts were captured on camera and spread on social media. It was stated that both attacks took place in the Kiraz district.

It was reported that animal feces were smeared on one of the busts located in the Umurcalı and Yeniköy neighborhoods.

A sack was placed over another bust of Atatürk.

CHP TAKES ACTION

The CHP Kiraz District Presidency condemned the incident and filed a criminal complaint.

Describing the attack as "vile," CHP Provincial Chairman Şenol Aslanoğlu made the following statement on his social media account:

"I condemn the vile attacks carried out on the busts of our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk located in the Umurcalı and Yeniköy neighborhoods of our Kiraz district, precisely on the 86th anniversary of his passing, and I curse those who committed these attacks, which are clearly planned."

Let those ignorant people who hope for something from such treacherous attacks know that we will never hesitate to protect his cherished memory and the republic at the cost of our lives. I believe that our police and gendarmerie forces will find these traitors and that the necessary punishment will be given before the law. We will not let this incident go, and we will follow it to the end to ensure these scoundrels receive an exemplary punishment."
